Graveside Services For Mrs. Millburn Held

Funeral services were held October 16 in Compton, Calif. for Mrs. Eldora E. Millburn, 95, who died from complications of old age October 14. Graveside services were held at the Lusk Cemetery Saturday afternoon with Rev. Jacob Nein officiating.

Pallbearers were Roy McLain, Floyd McLain, Roy Quigley, Jalmer Thon, C. E. Marvin and O. P. Harnagel.

Mrs. Eldora Elizabeth Millburn was born April 27, 1862 in Iowa. Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Millburn homesteaded five miles south of Lusk in the Royal Valley community in 1909. Mrs. Millburn made her home here until moving to Compton, Calif. 12 years ago where she made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Millburn.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Dan Stamy, Marion, Ia.; three sons, Ernest C. and Earl E. of Long Beach and Ralph of Compton; Six grandchildren 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. Her husband previously died.

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Millburn and Earl Millburn drove to Lusk to attend services. Mrs. C. W. Townsend of Long Beach, a granddaughter, accompanied the remains on the train.

The Millburns returned to California via Marion, Ia., where they visited Mrs. Dan Stamy. Mrs. Townsend took a plane from Cheyenne to her home.

Note: The Lusk Cemetery and the California Death Index both have the birth date as April 22, 1862.
