Eldon L. Moore
Graveside services for Eldon L. Moore, age 65, were at 2 p.m. Thursday Feb. 29, 1996, at the Lusk Cemetery with Rev. Frank Bozart officiating.
Mr. Moore died Monday, Feb. 26, 1996, at his home in Lusk. He was born July 4, 1930, in Brown County, Neb., the son of Guy and Mildred (Bruce) Moore. He attended rural schools in Rock and Keya Paha counties in northcenteral Nebraska and worked as a farmhand in the area. As a young lad he enjoyed spending time with his aunt May and Uncle Clarence Jones who live near his father's original homestead in Rock County.
He entered the U.S. Army on Jan. 24, 1952 and served with the 350th Infantry at Salzburg, Austria during the Korean War for which he received the National Defense Service Medal and was honorably discharged as a Corporal at Fort Sheridan, Ill. on Jan. 1, 1954.
Upon returning from the service, he settled at Manville, Wyo., with his father and was employed on various ranches in the area. He also worked in the oil field for a time as a truck driver during the beet harvest in Goshen County. He loved the outdoors and continued to work despite health problems.
Eldon married Rose Ella Wilkison on Sept. 23, 1955, at Rapid City, SD, and to them six children were born. Mrs. Moore died in 1990.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Rose; and one sister, Edna.
Survivors include three sons, Ronnie and Roy Moore both of Douglas and Dennis Moore of Lusk; three daughters, Kay Heine of Crawford, Neb., Tammie Reef of Worland, Wyo., and Donna Lutz of Mohnton, Penn.; 10 grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Donald (Evelyn) Warnke of Sweet Home, Ore., and Mrs. Howard (Kaye) Carr of Springview, Neb.
Bader Funeral Home of Lusk is in charge of arrangements.
