Funeral services for Ralph R. "Raymond" Moore, 71, were held Jan. 24, 2001, at Davis Funeral Home in Riverton with Rev. O. G. Garcia officiating and the Veterans of Foreign Wars conducting military rites. Burial followed at Mountain View Cemetery.

He died Jan. 20, 2001 at Riverton Memorial Hospital.

He was born July 28, 1929, in Lewistown, Idaho; the son of Ralph A. and Blanche (Burke) Moore. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War and married Essie L. Anderson in Thermopolis on Nov. 21, 1975. They made their home in Riverton where he worked for several drilling and construction companies, including True Drilling, Teton Exploration, Ormsday Drilling, Union Pacific, and Martin Construction as well as a welder at Federal American Partners.

He was a cowboy at heart and enjoyed horses. He worked for several ranchers in the Harrison area before moving to Riverton. He was a hunting guide in the Meeteese area for several hunting seasons.

He was a member of the VFW and the Riverton Fly Wheelers. He was preceded in death by his wife, a brother, Howard Wise and his mother.

Survivors include three step-daughters; Marilyn Pierce and Linda Vialpando of Riverton; Kathy Mole of Thermopolis; a brother Robert of Shoshoni; six sisters; Bernice Hardman of Phoenix; Carolyn of Casper, Margueritte of Bonneville, Kathryn of Colorado Springs, Nellie of Hudson, and Barbara of Riverton; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, one uncle Donald of Casper, two aunts, Edna Freeland and Geneva Burke of Lusk.

Arrangements are with Davis Funeral Home of Riverton.
