Mrs. Mossburger Dies Saturday
Mrs. Maude Mossburger, 85, of Manville died Saturday. Funeral services were held from the Peet Chapel Tuesday.
The Rev. Edward Poser of Manville officiated at the services. Burial was in the Manville Cemetery. Casket bearers were Charles Vaughan, Arthur Joss, Earl Maxwell, Alvin Alexander, Marion Rasmussen, Dave Bryant.
Mrs. Floyd Alexander and Mrs. Beryl Fullerton sang, "In The Garden" and "Safe In the Arms of Jesus." Mrs. Barbara Ferris was organist.
Maude Wallen was born at Rockport, Mo., September 5, 1877 to John and Emma Wallen. In 1878 the family moved to a farm near Beatrice, Neb. where she attended school and grew to womanhood. November 22, 1899 she married Hezekiah H. Bedford. They had three sons, Carl L., Orville A. and Frank; two daughters Alberta and Florence.
In 1914 the family moved to Wyoming and located on a homestead 15 miles northwest of Manville, where they lived for 12 years. Mr. Bedford died in February 1925 at Lincoln, Neb.
On September 22, 1928 Mrs. Bedford and Leonard A. Mossburger were married. Mr. Mossburger died in February 1942. Mrs. Mossburger continued to make her home in Lincoln until the winter of 1949 when she and her daughter, Alberta came to Manville to live near the other daughter, Mrs. Florence Pinkerton.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Frank in infancy and son Orville in 1919 and five brothers.
Surviving are her son, Carl of Bell Garden, Calif.; daughters, Mrs. Pinkerton and Alberta, both of Manville, and two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Clark of Lincoln, Neb. and Mrs. Venus Emory, Fremont, Neb.
