Fred Nelson Dies in Oregon

Fred Nelson, brother of Elmer and Linden Nelson of this community, died Saturday in Applegate, Ore., following a long illness. He was born in Nebraska 62 years ago to Andrew and Emma Nelson. He came with his family to this area when a small boy and was reared to manhood here. In December 1930, he married Estella Patton of Manville. They were the parents of five daughters. While here he worked at the Carbon Black. The couple left here in 1950.

He is survived by his wife; three brothers, Elmer and Linden Nelson of Lance Creek, and Lester of Glenrock, Wyo.; 4 sisters: Mrs. LaVerne Jess of Scotia, Nebraska, Betty Taylor of Big Piney, Ramona Wrobleski of New York and Violet Kurtz of Denver; five daughters; Annette Wooten of Cheyenne, and Lillian Hoffman, Bonnie Johnson, Elaine Brown and Charlotte McDowell, all of Medford, Oregon. One sister Mrs. Earl Maxwell and a brother, Melvin died previously.

Mr. and Mrs. Linden Nelson and Monte left Sunday for Applegate to attend the funeral services Wednesday.
