Thelma Nuxell service pending
Thelma Nuxell, former Lusk resident, died Monday night in Yankton, S. D. Funeral service was held in Yankton Tuesday afternoon with the Lusk service pending at Herald presstime.
Mrs. Nuxell, a nurse in Lusk for many years and superintendent of the hospital at one time, is a sister of Jennings Ruffing.

Mrs. Thelma Nuxoll former hospital superintendent dies
Graveside service was held Friday at 2:00 p.m. for Mrs. Thelma Ruffing Nuxoll who died February 24 at Yankton, S. D. Services were held in Yankton Wednesday.
Father Colm Woods officiated at the graveside service and pall bearers were Edgar Boner, Ted Jones, Phil Brewster, Kester Akers, Everett Thomas and Van Hank. Peet Mortuary was in charge of local arrangements.
Mrs. Nuxoll was born September 27, 1918 in Edgemont, S. D., to Christ and Gertrude Marking Ruffing. She graduated from Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital for nursing at Hot Springs where she worked for six years following her graduation.
During World War II she worked at the Kaiser Hospital in Portland, Ore. In 1948 she moved to Lusk to be superintendent of the Lusk hospital.
In 1953 she moved to Yankton where she was employed as night supervisor at Sacred Heart. She had also worked at the S. D. State Hospital, St. Michael's Hospital, Tyndall, S. D. and the Mikkelson and Nancy Nursing Homes.
Survivors are two sisters Mrs. Monica Erny, Alliance, Neb., and Mrs. Beatrice Avenell, Story; four brothers Edward, Hyatteville, Robert, Forest Grove, Oregon, and Jennings and Albert, Lusk.
One brother Henry and two sisters Luella and Leotta died previously.
Those attending the Lusk service from out of town were Mrs. Avenell, Ed Ruffing, Mrs. Erny, Mr. and Mrs. Emmet Foley, Hemingford, Neb.; and Miss Grace Modereger, Yankton, S. D.
