Charles Parsons Dies Saturday

Charles Edwin Parsons, 66, prominent cattleman and former Sioux County Resident, died Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Luke's Hospital in Denver where he has been hospitalized for a week. He had been ill several years.

He was born June 2, 1896 at Harrison, the son of Martha and Joseph C. Parsons. He left Harrison in 1913 and moved to Montana. In 1919 he moved to Wyoming and operated a ranch 20 miles north of Lingle for 30 years. About a year ago he sold his ranch holdings to his nephew Waldo Parsons, and he and Mrs. Parsons moved to Torrington and made their home.

He married Emma Rabe Aug. 8, 1921 at Belle Fourche, S.D.

Mr. Parsons was a member of the Methodist Church, Lingle American Legion Post, Wyoming Stock Growers Assoc., and the American Cattlemen's Assn.

Survivors in addition to his wife, Emma at home, include two brothers, John and Frank, both of Harrison, Neb., and two sisters, Mrs. C. J. Carley, Dalton, Nebr., and Mrs. Virginia Monroe, Miles City, Mont.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, one sister.

Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Herbert Cies at the Colver Chapel in Torrington Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. Burial was made in Harrison.
