Waldo C. Parsons

Waldo C. Parsons, 88, of North Platte, former Sioux County resident, died April 20, 2001, at Great Plains Regional Center.

He was born on June 13, 1912, in Sioux County, Nebraska to Con and Susie Parsons. He grew up on a ranch and was a lifetime rancher in Wyoming, Montana and Nebraska until his retirement in 1971.

On January 29, 1954, he married Lorraine Hamm. They made their home on several ranches until moving to Buleton, California after his retirement in 1972. They later relocated to Sun City, California.

Survivors include a daughter, Betty Berry of Palm Desert, Calif.; a sister, Susie Mae (Ed) Ambler of Riverton, four grandchildren, Ed Corley of Tacoma, Wash., Randy (Michelle) Corley of North Platte, Neb., Jim Laying of Rapid City, S. D. , and Kelly Chappell of Palm Desert, Calif.; nine great-grandchildren; a niece, Sue Andrikopoulos of Billings, Mont.; a nephew, Vince Atencio of Englewood, Colo.; a cousin, Cynthia Kaan of Harrison, Neb.; a sister-in-law, Helen Parsons of Sun Lake, Aria., and numerous other relatives in and around Sioux County, Neb. and the central Wyoming area.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and two brothers.

Memorial graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 25, 2001 at the Harrison Cemetery at Harrison, Nebraska.

Carpenter Memorial Chapel in charge of arrangements.
