Orval E. Penfield

Funeral services for Orval E. Penfield, age 56, were held in Henderson, Nev. on Dec. 27, 1994, at the First Church of Religious Science under the direction of the Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society of Las Vegas, Nev.

Funeral services will be held in Lusk at 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 30, 1994, at the Bader Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Lohr officiating.

Interment will be in the Lusk Cemetery in Lusk, Wyo.

Mr. Penfield died Dec. 23, 1994, in a Las Vegas hospital after collapsing at a business meeting.

He was born Oct. 31, 1938, at Lance Creek to Luther A. (Buster) and Reba Sparks Penfield.

He attended school in Lance Creek and Lusk, graduating from Niobrara County High School in 1956. He was an avid sportsman, playing football and track. After graduating he joined the U.S. Navy and retired in 1976. After naval service he worked in Casper, New Mexico and Arizona. He lived in Henderson, Nev. for the past 5 1/2 years, working as chief of security for the Eldorado Hotel and Casino.

Mr. Penfield was preceded in death by his father, Luther A. Penfield and a brother Norman Penfield.

Survivors include his wife Judith; son, Michael; daughter, Shawna; and grandson, Anthony, all of Henderson, Nev.; his mother, Reba Penfield, of Lance Creek; two brothers, Luther, of Las Vegas, Nev. and John, of Torrington; three sisters, Geneve Burke, of Lusk, Burnice Bollinger, of Kingman, Ariz. and Twila Berry, of Las Vegas, Nev.; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be sent to the Niobrara County Nursing Home, Senior Center or the Boys and Girls Club of Henderson, Nev.

Bader Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
