Former Resident Charles Penn Dies in Arizona May 2
Charles A. Penn, 76, died May 2 at Scottsdale, Ariz. Funeral services were held in Casper May 6 with burial in the Memorial Gardens. He was a brother of Mrs. Velda Miller and Lee and Albert Penn, all of Lusk.
He was born December 5, 1893 to Hezekiah and Anna Penn at Humbolt, Neb. He grew to manhood there and moved to Wymore, Neb. in 1914. He and Leona Schown were married June 10, 1915. They moved to Lusk in 1917 and homesteaded northwest of Hat Creek. In 1929 the family moved to Casper where he was a carpenter until his recent retirement.
In December 1969 he went to Scottsdale to visit his daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Schaffer, where he was living at the time of his death. His wife, parents and two sisters died previously.
Survivors include three children, Leo of Casper, Mrs. Schaffer of Scottsdale, and Mrs. Dorothy Meredith of Benwood, W. Va., six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren , two sisters, Mrs. Miller of Lusk and Mrs. Iva McGinnis of Casper; two brothers, Lee and Albert of Lusk.
Mrs. Miller and Lee Penn attended the service.
