Funeral Services For Joseph Petty Conducted Aug. 16

Funeral services were conducted from the First Congregational Church of Edgemont August 16 for Joseph Edmund Petty who died at the Spencer Hospital in Lusk August 11. Burial was made at Hot Springs.

Mr. Petty died at the age of 73. The Peet Mortuary was in charge of the remains here and took them to Edgemont for the services.

Joseph Edmund Petty was born April 6, 1881 at Hot Springs. He was the first white male child born in Fall River County. He spent most of his life on the range. Mr. Petty worked in Canada about two years, 1910 and 1911. He worked at Carey's ranch in Wyoming and the Ed Lemon Ranch in South Dakota.

Survivors include; one brother, Art Petty, Edgemont; three sisters, Phoebe Jackson, Missouri; Mattie Hays, Rapid City; and Margaret Reed, New Providence, Iowa and several nieces.
