George Pollock Service

Services for George N. Pollock, 67, were held Sept. 16 at Peet Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Frank Blish officiating. Music was by Mrs. Minerva Watson, organist and Mark Lohr, soloist who presented "Home on the Range" and "How Great Thou Art." Interment was in Douglas Park Cemetery.

Mr. Pollock was born April 2, 1911, at Orin, the son of the late George Pollock and Mollie Howe Pollock. He attended grade school near his home and high school in Douglas until the death of his father in 1927 when he assumed care of the family ranch. He was also employed by the late Clay Shaw near Orin.

Mr. Pollock enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1942 and after basic training, was sent to England where he was stationed during World War II. He flew many missions over France and Germany before he was honorably discharged on Oct. 18, 1945, with the rank of staff sergeant.

Following his discharge he was employed by Continental Oil Company at Lance Creek for several years. On July 2, 1960, he and his mother moved to the Dan Smith ranch south of Manville where he was living at the time of his death.

He is survived by his brother, John Pollock, Douglas; Mrs. Martha Silver, Lompoc, Calif., Mrs. Dona Olson, Las Vegas, Mrs. Dorothe Chiamulon, Hartville, and Mrs. Natalie Stoll, Eugene, Ore.

Pallbearers were V. J. Kennedy, Bud Hughes, Orma Milliken, Bill Gray, Harold Gillespie and Joe Carmin.
