D. L. Rogers Dies In Florida
D. L. Rogers former station agent for the North Western Railroad in Harrison, died in the Veterans Hospital at Miami, Fla., last Wednesday and was buried at Chiefland, Fla., on Sunday.
In recent years, he and his wife Doris and children Earl and Caroline have visited in Harrison.
Over the years he had been stationed at Andrews, Orin Junction in Wyoming and other places as a relief operator for the railroad.
During World War I he was sent by the army to Alcatraz Island as a telegraph operator. During his colorful life he was a horse trader many years ago buying horses from the Indians around Buffalo Gap in South Dakota and around Keeline and Lost Springs, Wyo., to ship to buyers in the east.
His first wife was from around Andrews.
