Dr. Danvis Rust Dies at Home Sunday Afternoon

Dr. Danvis W. Rust, 42, was found dead in bed at his home where he had been ill by his wife about 4:30 Sunday afternoon. An autopsy was ordered by local officials and conducted Monday by a Cheyenne pathologist. However, a final report is awaiting tests sent to outside laborites.

Funeral service was being held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the Peet Chapel.

The Rev. Robert Boutwell was officiating with Mrs. A. F. DeCastro organist.

Casket bearers were Gordon Kaan, Lawrence Kaan, Glen Parmely, Henry Wasserburger Jr., Kester Akers and Gene Perry. Burial will be in the family plot at Rector, Ark.

Danvis Wright Rust was born Oct. 22, 1930, at Rector, the son of Clarence H. Rust and Evelyn Nancy Wright. He graduated from Rector High School in 1948 and the University of Arkansas in 1952. He received a doctor of medicine degree from the University of Arkansas School of Medicine in 1956 and completed a year of rotating internship at University Hospital at Little Rock 1957. He worked one year at Searcy, Ark., three years at Las Cruces, N.M. and moved to Lusk in January 1964. He married Edna Faye Dortch December 26, 1952.

Dr. Rust is survived by his wife; four children, Danvis Doyle, Dana Clair, John William and Joseph Robert all of the family home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Rust, Rector, Ark.; two sisters, Gloria Reed, Hazelcrest, Ill., and Nancy Clevenger, Little Rock, Ark. One brother, Donald Rust died previously.

He was a member of the Congregational Church, the American Medical Association, the Wyoming Medical Association and the Elks. Dr. Rust had current licenses in Wyoming, Nebraska, New Mexico and Arkansas.
