Walter H. Schnorenberg

Memorial services for Walter H. Schnorenberg of Lusk were held February 13, 1988 at Peet Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Mark Lohr officiated. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

He was born October 27, 1896, the son of Henry and Agnes Walter Schnorenberg in Cedar Creek, WI. He attended schools in Cedar Creek and Port Washington, WI.

In 1912 his mother and step-father moved to a homestead eight miles southwest of Van Tassell, WY. On July 8, 1920 he married Edna Gagstetter in Chadron, NE. To this union three sons were born, Richard, Leslie and Walter, Jr.

The family lived on several farms until June of 1941 when they moved to Milwaukee, WI to live with his father. In September of 1942 they moved to Lusk where he worked in the oil field for a time. He also worked for the Railroad in Van Tassell, the state highway department, and for the Town of Lusk. He later bought a sand and gravel business that he ran until selling the business in 1962. He also served as janitor at the Lady Bird rest stop for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two infant brothers, one granddaughter, and one great-granddaughter.

Survivors include his wife, Edna of Lusk, three sons, Richard of Lusk, Leslie of Bountiful, UT and Walter Jr. of Casper; ten grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Memorials may be made to the Historical Society or the Senior Center.
