Edna Schnorenberg

Edna Schnorenberg, 99, of Casper, died Jan. 14, 2002, at the home of her son, Walter "Babe" Schnorenberg, of Casper.

Services at Evansville Baptist Church and inurnment at Lusk Cemetery will take place at a later date. Cremation has taken place.

Edna was born Sept. 10, 1902, in Sublette, Ill., to Samuel and Elizabeth (Mall) Gagstetter. She lived in Sublette with her brothers Raymond and Roland until 1908 when the family moved to Phillips, S.D. They lived in Phillips until 1910, when they moved to Van Tassell, where she grew up.

She met Walter Schnorenberg there at a neighborhood dance. They married on July 8, 1920, in Chadron, Neb., and had three sons.

The family lived in Van Tassell until 1941, when they moved to Milwaukee, where they lived for a short period before moving back to Wyoming and living in Lusk. During World War II, Edna had all three of her boys in the service at once and she wrote a letter to each of them every day.

She is survived by two sons: Walter Schnorenberg, Jr. and wife, of Casper, and Richard Benjamin Schnorenberg and family, of Cheyenne.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Leslie; a granddaughter, Diana Lee; and a great-granddaughter, Christa Dawn.

The family suggests memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Evansville Baptist Church, the Lusk Senior Citizen's Center or to the charity of the donor's choice.

Memorial Chapel Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
