Louis C. "Chet" Stubson

Funeral services for Louis C. "Chet" Stubson, age 90, were held at 2 p.m. on Monday at the Bader Funeral Home in Lusk. Burial followed in the Lusk Cemetery.

Mr. Stubson died early Friday morning, April 1 at the Niobrara County Memorial Nursing Home in Lusk. He was born January 24, 1904, in Hallock, Minnesota, the son of Peter and Ingeborg Stubson.

At the age of sixteen, he moved to Casper. He worked for Standard Refinery for a short time and then went to work for Ohio Oil Company, which later became known as Marathon Oil Company.

On May 8, 1930, Chet married Esther Olson. They lived in Salt Creek, Big Muddy and for 30 years in Lance Creek and Lusk. For the past 15 years, he had resided at the Niobrara County Memorial Nursing Home.

Chet was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Lusk.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Esther, two daughters, Joyce English, and Darlene Johnson and a grandson, Don English.

Survivors include: his son Don Stubson of Cody; daughter Connie Sturman of Lusk; a sister Irva Forfang of Hallock, Minn.; eleven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

For those who wish, memorials to the Nursing Home would be appreciated by the family.
