Mona Louise (Barkus) Teasdale
Mona Louise (Barkus) Teasdale, 66, formerly of the Lusk and Harrison areas passed away quietly on March 14, 2004, after a long battle with cancer.
She was born September 22, 1937, to Verda E. (Pullen) and L. E. "Monk" Barkus, in her family home in Harrison and later moved to the Lusk area.
She will always be remembered as a very loving and caring person as she cared for her mother, father and husband during their illnesses before their passing.
Mona loved a number of things including her porcelain hummingbirds and roses. She also loved crafts, quilting and gardening, which included numerous roses.
Mona leaves behind a brother, Donald and wife, Leona Barkus of Minatare, Neb.; a sister, Aletha and husband, Wade Carston of Island Park, Idaho; sons, Marry Mooney of Pennsylvania, Craig Mooney of Los Lunas, N.M., daughters, Donita Holloway of Los Lunas, Tina and husband, Steve Akright of Torrington and Mary Jo and husband, David Schlanger, currently stationed in England; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Verda E. Barkus (Pullen), her father L. E. "Monk" Barkus; a sister, Theone Quintard and her husband, Jack Teasdale.

Cremation has taken place and per her request, no services are being planned.
