Tony R. Teten
Tony R. Teten, age 42, died Sunday, February 26, as the result of a boating incident at the Buffalo Bill Reservoir near Cody, Wyoming.
He was born March 31, 1952, in Nebraska City, Nebraska, the son of Carl and Loretta Grotrian Teten. Tony grew up in the southwest Nebraska area and graduated from Nemaha Valley High School in 1970. He married Kathy A. Wilson on July 14, 1979, in Harrison, Nebraska.
Tony and Kathy moved with their children from Harrison to Cody in August of 1988. Tony enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, horseback riding, and especially watching his children play sports. He also had become an excellent gardener. At the time of his death, Tony was employed by the Cody Canal District.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy; two children, Adam and Jolene, both of the family home; two brothers and their wives - Dennis and Brenda Teten of Eagle Rock, Missouri, and Kenneth and Jan Teten of Auburn, Nebraska; four sisters and their husbands - Elaine and Steve Hofker of Talmadge, Nebraska, Bernice and Gary Spurlock of Percival, Iowa, Judy and Brad Bemberger of Carlos, Minnesota, and Rita and Kenny Dunn of Gillette, Wyoming; twenty nieces and nephews and numerous relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Keith.
Tony's passion for life was shown through his pride in his children's accomplishments and his love of the great outdoors.
Memorial services were held Thursday, March 2, at the United Methodist Church in Cody. Cremation has taken place. Memorials may be made to the Shoshone First Bank, 1401 Sheridan Ave., Cody, Wyoming 82414, to a fund which has been established for Tony's children.
