Last Rites Held for Charles Jacob Wasserburger

Last rites for Charles Jacob Wasserburger were held at St. John's Catholic Church on January 3 with Father Shumski of Hemingford officiating. Burial was at Montrose in the family lot.

Rosary was recited January 2 at 7:30 p.m. at St. John's Church.

An honor guard was present at the church and at the cemetery. Pallbearers were George Wasserburger, Harrison; Martin Wasserburger, Harrison; Eli Wasserburger, Crawford; Lawrence Wasserburger, Orella, Neb.; Norbert Wasserburger, Harrison; and Vince Wasserburger, Ardmore, S. D.

Charles Jacob Wasserburger, son of Mrs. Frances Wasserburger, was born at Montrose, Neb. on August 28, 1909. He died in the Crawford Memorial Hospital December 30, at the age of 62. He was a veteran of World War II serving with U.S. Armed Services in North Africa for 3 and a half years.

On August 16, 1969 he was married to Louila Schuttler at Hot Springs, S. D.

He was an active member of Elks Lodge 1751 of Hot Springs, and a member of the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, his mother, Mrs. Frances Wasserburger, of Crawford; four brothers, Elmer of Valley, Neb., Harold of Compton, Calif., Jess of Crawford, Ralph of Crawford; five sisters; Leona Ostermeyer of Crawford, Nellie Pipher of Hermosa Beach, Calif., Carolyn Moody of Crawford, Marge Rudoloff of Page, Ariz., Rose Marie Cole of Clarendon Hills, Ill. There are three step-sons; Reynold Schuttler of U.S. Army in Vietnam, Robert Schuttler of Buffalo, N. Y. and Richard at home.

He was preceded in death by his father Charles M. Wasserburger.
