Lita Rose Wolverton

Lita Rose Wolverton, 77, died Feb. 21, at the Bitterroot Valley Living Center.

She was born Feb. 22, 1929, in Douglas, to Willie Smith and Jessie June (Hughes) Humphreys.

Lita grew up in Lusk, and was educated in Wyoming schools. She married Thomas Ames Wolverton on June 29, 1947, in Lusk.

"My Fair Lady" - a generous, family-oriented wife, mother and grandmother - has found peace in her spirit by joining her heavenly Father. She was thought of as a lovely, steadfast woman who wanted nothing more than to keep her family close to her. Sonnets were her way of expressing what life was about. In her remembrance may we keep the love songs of our lives in our hearts always.

Lita was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Tom, on Feb. 16, 2007.

She is survived by her daughter Carmen Jean (Tom) Pederson of Stevensville; sister Betty Jean (Seward) Andrews of Sacramento, Calif.; sister-in-law Bennis McKibben of Biloxi, Miss.; grandson Jeff (Lisa) Pederson of Hermiston, Ore.; granddaughter Dawnnele (Jason) Rangitsch of Bozeman; great-grandsons Andrew and Colby Pederson; and great-granddaughter Keyley Rangitsch. Also surviving are many dear nieces and nephews.

At her request, she was cremated and her ashes were placed in Tom's casket. They were buried together on Feb. 23, 2007. They had celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in June 2006.
