Jesse Lee York

Funeral services for Jesse Lee York, 70, were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, at the Congregational Church in Lusk with Rev. Frank Blish officiating. Burial followed in the Lusk Cemetery.

Mr. York died early Saturday morning March 8, from injuries received in an auto accident. He was born June 23, 1915, in Shawnee, Wyoming, the son of Tom and Myrtle York, the middle child of three children. He attended country school near Shawnee.

He married Ethel L. Cannon on March 27, 1930, in Hot Springs, South Dakota, and to this union two children were born. They lived in Lost Springs for a time and then moved to their ranch near Lance Creek. Jesse ranched and also worked for Continental Pipeline for twenty years until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and one nephew.

Survivors include: his wife Ethel York of Lance Creek; two daughters, Carol Geisinger and Nancy Burnaugh; one brother Robert York; one nephew Donny York, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

For those who wish, donations to the American Heart Association or to the American Diabetes Foundation will be appreciated by the family. Peet Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
