Mother Of County Clerk Chambers Is Called By Death
The sorrowful message received early last week by County Clerk Frank W. Chambers, telling of the sudden death of his mother, Mrs. S. B. Chambers, at her home in Port Arthur, Tex., was sad indeed, as it came just one day after the receipt of a letter from the deceased, in which she appeared to be in good spirits and presumably good health. Mrs. Chambers, although no definite word has been received regarding her demise, is believed to have succumbed to a stroke of paralysis, having been afflicted with high blood pressure, passing away Monday morning, January 19, 1931, at the age of 69 years.
Mr. Chambers departed that evening for Port Arthur, and in a letter received by Mrs. Chambers Tuesday of this week, he stated that funeral services had been held at 10 o'clock Thursday morning, January 22nd, from the Methodist Episcopal church of that city and interment made in the cemetery there.
This is the first death to occur in the family circle, and coming as suddenly as it did, the news was a severe shock to relatives. Mrs. Chambers is survived by her husband and three daughters, Mrs. H. H. Brown, Mrs. Leffie Johnson, both of Port Arthur, Tex.; and Mrs. A. A. Robinson, of Calumet, Okla.; and four sons, Foster, of Port Arthur, Tex.; Roy, of Temple, Tex.; Lewis, of Houston, Tex.; and Frank W., of Lusk, Wyoming. All were in attendance at the last rites.
Mrs. Chambers had visited here with her son and family and had made many friends in and around Lusk. These and the many friends of Mrs. and Mrs. Chambers extend heartfelt condolences to the bereaved.
