Norman W. Compton

Former Lance Creek resident, Norman W. "Red" Compton died March 7, 1995, in Westminster, Col. following a long illness.

Services were held March 10, and burial was in the Littleton, Col. cemetery.

The Drink-Wine Family Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Compton was born January 24, 1917, in Englewood, Colorado. He and his wife, Ila, came to Lance Creek in the mid 1930s. Their three children attended school in Lance Creek and Lusk. He was employed by the Continental Oil Company and later worked at the gas plant. In 1954, he was transferred to Ft. Morgan, Colo. where he was involved in building a gas plant between Ft. Morgan and Brush, Colo. Mr. Compton was then transferred to Carlsbad, New Mexico. He and his wife later returned to Colorado where they resided until the time of his death.

Mr. Compton is survived by his wife, Ila; one son, Ronald Norman Compton, and his wife Florine (Heany) Compton of Littleton, Colo.; two daughters, Norma Jean Perrin of Tucson, Ariz., and Connie Bongard of Denver; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
