Myrtle Benshoof Dies Last Thurs.

Daisy Myrtle Benshoof, 78, of Torrington formerly of the Prairie Center community, died last Thursday at the Torrington hospital. Funeral services were held Sunday from the Colyer Funeral Home in Torrington with the Rev. Richard Wohler officiating. Burial was in the Valley View Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Merle Hahn, Verne Browder, both of Lusk, Wayne Hahn, Darrell Benshoof, Jack Wade and Frank Nelson.

She was born at Bloomfield, Nebr., June 14, 1891. She married Leslie H. Benshoof at Yankton, S. Dak., August 7, 1926. They came to the Prairie Center community in 1931, moving there from Knox County, Nebr. She has lived in Torrington since 1958.

She taught school for many years and was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church of Torrington.

Her husband, parents and several brothers and sisters died previously.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. James W. Hutton of Cheyenne; two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Clarence of Montclair, Calif.; and Mrs. Alvira Ferguson of Waverly, Nebr.; two brothers, Benjamin Cooper of San Bernardino, Calif.; and Orie Cooper of Bloomfield, Nebr.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
