Rev. Evans, former Lusk Minister, Dies at Colorado home

Word of the death of Rev. Perry H. Evans at his home in Colo. on Saturday, July 17, has been received here by friends here.

Rev. Evans was pastor of the First Baptist Church of Lusk, from 1934 to 1943, and among the activities in which he worked was a camp for boys which he established in the hills, southwest of the Rawhide Buttes, and which was enjoyed by boys of all denominations while it was active.

After leaving Lusk, Rev. Evans went to Bennett, Colo., as minister of the Bennett Community Baptist Church, in which capacity he was serving at the time of his death, and services for him were conducted from this church with interment being made in the Fairmont Cemetery.

Perry H. Evans was born in Palmyra, Illinois, April 9, 1879. He was a graduate of Shurtleff College and the Rochester Theological Seminary. In 1906 he was married to Lena May Foster, and a year later was ordained in the Baptist ministry in Hagerman, Idaho. He held several pastorates in Idaho, Colorado, and Wyoming during his 40 years as a minister.

Surviving are his widow, two daughters, Mrs. Beatrice Massey of Bennett, Colo., and Mrs. Florence Spencer of Gainesville, Florida; three sisters in St. Louis and five grandchildren.
