Geraldine H. Smith

Geraldine H. Smith, 90, passed away May 2, 2007, at her home in Valley Center, Calif. of Parkinson disease.

Born Oct. 23, 1916, in Keya Paha County, Neb. to Melvin and Mary (Wiley) Hoblit, the youngest of seven children.

She resided in Valley Center, Calif. for seven years and was a longtime resident of Niobrara County.

She was a ranch wife and involved with the 5280 Club of Keeline and was also a member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed arts and crafts and was a wonderful cook.

Geraldine is survived by her husband of 68 years, Jim Smith, of Valley Center, CA and her son, Jay and daughter-in-law Vicki Smith of Valley Center; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephew. A graveside memorial service in Lusk, Wyoming will be held Aug 18. The family suggests donations to Elizabeth Hospice, 150 W. Crest St, Escondido, CA 92025.

Memorial Services for Geraldine H. (Hoblit) Smith


Graveside memorial services for Geraldine H. (Hoblit) Smith, age 90, will be held at the Lusk Cemetery, Aug. 18, 2007, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Chan Bayne, of Wheatland, officiating.

Geraldine passed away May 2, 2007, at her home in Valley Center, Calif. A full obituary was published earlier.

Pier Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
