Leo C. Heins

Services for Leo C. Heins, 84, who died at his home in Torrington Monday, Sept. 26, 1983 were held at Our Savior Lutheran Church Friday, Sept. 30, 1983 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Marvin Temme officiating. Interment was in Valley View Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be directed to Our Savior Lutheran Church Building Fund.

He was born Sept. 7, 1899 in Huntingburg, Ind. the son of Fred and Ann (Wardleman) Heins. He moved to Kansas with his parents in 1907 where he lived for two years. In 1909 the family moved to Keeline and he went to school there eight years. He married Hedwich Emma Miller Sept. 22, 1921 in Lusk and the family was engaged in farming and ranching newar Keeline. Upon retirement in 1964, they moved to Torrington.

He was a lifetime member of the Lutheran Church and in Torrington was a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church, serving in several church capacities until the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife, Hedwich of Torrington; one son, Allen Walter Heins of Keeline; two daughters, Alma Emma Gaukel of Lakewood, Colo. and Wilma Lois Baldwin of Torrington; one sister, Leona Miller of Stover, Mo.; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, one granddaughter and one grandson.
