A memorial Mass and reception was held for former Lusk resident Susan Lynn (Baribeau) Lewitz Aug. 2 at The Villa de San Antonio in San Antonio, Texas. She passed into the Lord's Hands in late July. Born Aug. 22, 1955 in Sheridan, the youngest daughter of Robert and Vivian (Mickey) Baribeau, she grew up and received her education in Lusk. Active in various organizations in high school with particular involvement in music activities, Susan was a 1973 graduate of Niobrara County High School.

Susan was a kind and loving mother, spouse, grandmother, and friend. She affectionately touched the lives of all she came into contact with. A devoted life-saver she worked as a surgical technician for the Methodist Hospital Heart Team. She especially enjoyed working on the pediatric cases.

Susan is survived by her loving sons Matthew and his family and Zachary Lewitz, along with the father of her children, Allen Lewitz; her loving parents, and six siblings and their families, brothers; Mike and Alan of San Antonio, Texas, Steve of Dayton and Tom of New Braunfels, Texas and sisters, Michelle of Cheyenne and Christine of Buda, Texas, numerous nieces and nephews and other family members.

A charitable donation in memory of Susan can be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital Department of Pediatric Cardiology, Attn: Memorial & Honor Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
