Edna Bowen, 92, of Wheatland, died July 2, 2007 in Scottsbluff, Neb. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Aug. 19 at the Manville Community Church with Pastor Chan Bayne officiating and Edna's family providing music.
Edna was born on Jan. 27, 1915 in Morrill, Kan. to Frank and Bessie Bowman. She married Louis Bowen on June 17, 1937 in King Ferry, NY. They managed the Ithaca Ice and Coal Company and owned and operated a gas station near Lansing, NY.
The couple moved to Keeline with their four children in 1951, where they owned and operated a successful ranch until 1979. They sold their ranch, but continued living there until 1988 when they retired to Wheatland. They spent a number of years wintering in Sebring, Fla.
Edna was preceded in death by her daughter Shirley Roetman of Sharpsburg, Ga. in 1997 and her husband Louis of Wheatland in 1998.
Edna is survived by her son Arlo Bowen of Granbury, Texas; daughter Catherine Dawn Hicks of Torrington; Judy Bredthauer of Cheyenne; 10 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
