Forrest Daryl Doyle
Forrest Daryl Doyle of Cheyenne died Saturday, April 23, 1988, at the Cheyenne Veterans Administration Hospital after an extended illness. He had resided in Cheyenne for the past 16 years, previously living in Casper.
Doyle was born in Frontier County between Curtis and Maywood, NE, on May 31, 1933, to Theodore Guy and Grace Aerilia (Towne) Doyle. He was 54 years old.
He attended Maywood High School where he was active in rodeo events and sports, especially football. He went to Fairbury Junior college where he continued to play football.
He began his career in construction of transmission lines, substations, dams and other power-related projects as a surveyor's assistant and then a surveyor with the Soil Conservation Service in McCook, NE. He had been employed by the federal government for the past 34 years.
Two children survive from his marriage to Shirley Mae Hamilton; Robert Mark Doyle and Sharyl Diane (Mrs. Billie) Adcock, both of Casper. A grandson, Gregory Doyle of Denver also survives him.
On March 23, 1973, he married Katherine (Kay) Joyce (Eaton) Edmonds in Cheyenne. She survives him as well as two daughters from that marriage; Michelle (Missie) Dawn Edmonds-Aldrich (Mrs. Andrew K.) of Manville, and Jaqueline (Jackie) Denise Edmonds-Missildine (Mrs. Doyle Missildine), of Cheyenne; two grand-daughters; two brothers, Keith Doyle of Livingston, NJ, and Theodore Doyle of Fairbury, NE.
Doyle was a life member and past commander of Guthrie-Beck NO. 2 Disabled American Veterans and had served as an officer of the Department of Wyoming DAV. He was a charter member of Trench Rats Dug Out No. 396, a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 128 and Francis E. Self Post No. 6 of the American Legion where he served on the cemetary and community Christmas committees. He belonged to 40 & 8.
He served on the original building committee and was a charter member of Am-Vets Post No. 2. He belonged to the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, the Interior Department Recreation Association and the National Association of Government Employees as well as the National Travel Club and the IOOB.
Services were held at Schrader Chapel in Cheyenne on Friday, April 29, with Rev. Rick Austin of the Beacon Hill Baptist Church officating and Rev. Cande Hernandez of the First Church of the Nazarene assisting.
