Amos Quincy "Quince" Boan

Information received here the first of the week related the passing of Amos Quincy (Quince) Boan, former resident of this city and one of the most prominent and aggressive car salesmen of his time. Boan died April 22, 1955 at Minneapolis, Minn., it was learned although details concerning his death were not obtainable.

"Quince" was a native of Utah, born at Vernal in that state on January 5, 1897, son of Amos Quincy and Kate Jean Boan. When a young man, he moved to Chadron, Nebr., where in 1922, while employed by the Chicago and North Western Railway, he met and married Imogene Phillips. The family resided there for a number of years, after which they moved to this city. It was here that "Quince", who was known to almost every person in the county and surrounding locality, became engaged in car selling, working for the Lusk Motor company, then owned and operated by T. A. Godfrey and Glenn I. Willson, and also for the then Boyd Chevrolet Company.

He left Lusk prior to World War II and traveled considerably in western states, and once or twice came back here for brief visits. His last visit was about two years ago.

He is survived by his wife, Imogene; two daughters, Mrs. L. J. Wazinick of Corpus Christi, Tex., and Mrs. Clifford Leighton, Oceanside, Calif., a sister Mrs. Fritz Boan Palmer of Salt Lake City, Utah, and a half-sister, Mrs. Nora Blake Mead of Omaha, Nebr. He had made his home with Mrs. Mead for many years when she lived in Chadron, and prior to his marriage.
