Myrtle Sheaman

Funeral services were held at the Edgemont Mortuary Chapel for Myrtle Sheaman, Friday, December 23, with Freddie Brepenton and Clarence Nelson officiating.

Myrtle Sheaman was born in Traer, Iowa May 15th, 1896 and departed from this life Tuesday, December 20th, 1988 at the age of 92 years and 7 months. The family later moved to Granada, Minnesota, where later on March 14, 1916 she was united in marriage to John Sheaman. In January 1919 they moved to Edgemont, S.D. and later homesteaded around Mule Creek, WY.

To this union were born 5 children, one of whom died in infancy. After her husband died in 1960, she moved to Edgemont S.D. where she resided until October 1987 when she was taken to the Colonial Manors rest home at Custer, S.D.

While living in the Mule Creek area, she listened to the gospel in 1952 and chose to believe and walk the way Jesus taught and remained true to this until the end.

She leaves to mourn her passing two sons, Robert Sheaman of Gillette, WY and Samuel Sheaman of Gardena, CA also two daughters Helen Peterson of Edgemont S.D. and Esther Pearson of Lusk, WY also 15 grand children, 25 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson; also a sister, Lottie Hiller of Fairmont, Minn., a step sister, Laura Loop also of Fairmont, Minn., and two half sisters, Grace Johannsen of Truman, MN and June Krausher of Hackensack, MN, a step brother Clair Jeffries of Phoenix, AZ, two half brothers, James Jeffries of Blue Earth, MN and Vernon Jeffries of Rapid City, S.D. and a host of other relatives and friends.

Pall Bearers were six of her grandsons, Gary and Russell Pearson of Lusk, Ned Peterson of Rapid City, S.D., Ervin Peterson of Hill City, S.D., Gerald and Kerry Sheaman of Fort Collins, CO.
