Burnice Marie Bolinger

Funeral services for Burnice Marie Bolinger were Jan. 11, 1997, at the Bader Funeral Home in Lusk with the Rev. Terry Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Lusk Cemetery. Memorials are to the charity of the donor's choice.

She died Jan. 4, 1997, at her home in Kingman, Ariz., following several years of very poor health. She was born Sept. 18, 1928, in Broadwater, Neb., to Luther A. (Buster) and Reba Sparks Penfield. She spent her childhood in Niobrara County, attending schools in rural Lance Creek and in Lusk.

She married Bernard Bolinger Nov. 16, 1955, in Norwalk, Calif., where they made their home until 1966.

At that time, they moved to Torrington and then on to Lusk, where they resided until 1987. They then moved to Monticello, Utah, and then on to Kingman, where they were living at the time of her death.

She was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Lusk Feb. 14, 1982, and had remained a member of that church.

She had many hobbies, including crocheting afghans, and making quilts, beautiful Christmas tree skirts and stuffed animals. She loved gardening and reading poetry. Watching humming birds on her patio was a pleasant pastime for her.

She was preceded in death by her father and brothers Norman and Orval.

Survivors include her husband of Kingman; mother of Lance Creek; sons Richard Butler of Deadwood, S. D., Hayden Butler of Arlington, Texas, Fred Butler of Fontana, Calif., Terry Butler of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., and Rick Bolinger of Douglas; daughter Deborah Pfister of Kingman; brothers Luther of Las Vegas, Nev., and John of Torrington; sisters Geneva Burke of Lusk and Twila Berry of Las Vegas; 19 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Bader Funeral Home of Lusk was in charge of arrangements.
