Funeral services for Walter Anderson were held January 10 at the Methodist Memorial Church in Harrison with burial in Crawford. He had died January 7 at the Memorial Hospital in Lusk at the age of 73.

Mr. Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Anderson, was born at Poy Sippi, Wisc., November 22, 1886. He was engaged in factory work until 19 years of age when he spent two years at Frand Forks, N. Dak. Then coming to Nebraska in 1908 he lived on a homestead in north Sioux County. He spent eight years as rural mail carrier via Harrison, Montrose and Story.

On February 17, 1915, he was married to Minnie Ring at Alliance. Three sons were born, Clair and Lyle Anderson who are engaged in the ranch business on the home place, and one son, Elvin, who died in 1919.

The past 15 years he has been affiliated with the Interdenominational Church Work and the American Sunday School Union where he seldom missed a service and was always eager to hear the gospel of Christ.

He leaves his wife, Minnie, the two sons, and three granddaughters, Sandra and Linda Anderson, and Mrs. Joe Whiteaker; three isters, Marie Jensen of Poy Sippi, Wisc., Dora Jorgensen of Pine River, Wisc., and Alice De Velice of Tondulas, Wisc.
