Wiley Richardson Dies in California

Wiey Rihardson, 88, pioneer resident of this community, died at Glendale, Calif, Oct. 1.

Born in Grayson County, Va. in 1863, Mr. Richardson was reared by an aunt and uncle as his parents died when he was a small child.

In young manhood he came west with Joseph C. Parsons and Parsons established a store at the new town of Silver Cliff (about a mile and a half west of where Lusk now stands) and Richardson found employment at the Hat Creek Stage Station north of Lusk.

He worked on ranches in that vicinity for a number of years then took up a homestead and established a ranch of his own.

Later he disposed of his property here and formed a partnership with George Voorhees and they purchased a ranch on the Running Water south of Harrison, which Mr. Richardson operated successfully for 35 years. He then decided to retire and sold his ranch, and other property and moved to California. He is survived by his wife, Lillian Walker Richarson, whom he married after moving to California.

Interment was in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Glendale.
