Alice N. Sheaman
Alice N. Sheaman, age 89, passed away Sept. 7, 2008, at the Cozy Corner in Lusk, Wyo. Funeral Services will be at 11 A.M. Sat., Sept. 13, 2008, at Pier Funeral Home in Lusk, with Pastor Gary Walker officiating. Per Aliceís request, the casket will be closed. Pier Funeral Home in Lusk is in charge of arrangements.
Alice N. Sheaman was born March 18, 1919, near Edgemont, S.D., the daughter of Charles F. and Myra M. (Whannel) Sheaman. She grew up around Edgemont and Mule Creek, Wyo. Alice attended grade school at Carbon Black at Lance Creek and Cheyenne River. She moved with her parents to Manville in 1937. She graduated from Manville High School in 1939. In 1940 the family moved to Lance Creek where they stayed until 1964, when they moved back to Manville. Alice worked for McKnight Bakery in Lusk, the Post Office in Lance Creek, Nielson Trading Post and Voril Drug, also in Lance Creek. She started working for K & K Market in Lance Creek in 1954 and worked there for 30 years, retiring after they closed the store. At that time she moved to Manville until she sold her home and then moved into the Ranger Apartments in Lusk. In January 2008 she entered assisted living at the Cozy Corner in Lusk.
Alice was a member of the Manville Church and Woodbine Chapter #18 OES of Douglas. She was preceded in death by her mother in 1978 and her father in 1980. Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Clarice Sheaman of Sidney, Nebr.; nephew Michael Sheaman and son Spencer of Parker, Colo.; niece and husband Theresa and Alfred Bradley of Ft. Walton Beach, Flor.; grand-nephew John and wife Desi Bradley and great-grandniece Jessica of Aurora, Colo.; and special friend Bill Welch of Manville.
Memorials may be made to the Niobrara Senior Center, PO Box 928, Lusk, WY 82225; to the Manville Church; or to the donorís choice.
