Joseph Jefferson Boyles, 75 year old former Ft. Laramie resident who had been making his home in Torrington for the past seven years, passed away Sunday, March 1, following an extended illness.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, March 4, at the Colyer funeral home with Rev. George Woodard, retired minister of Ft. Laramie, officiating. Burial was in Valley View cemetery.
The deceased was born at Primghar, Ia. on May 5, 1883 and passed away at the age of 75 years, 8 months and 24 days. He was a son of Curtis Madison and Martha Rowland Boyles.
He married Pearl Brazile Hayes at Neligh, Neb. January 2, 1912. The couple lived at Ft. Laramie until 11 years ago when Mr. Boyles retired from farming and moved to the West Highway in Torrington.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Eldon of Casper, Donald of Big Piney, Reed of Glenrock and Gene of Torrington; four daughters, Mrs. Wilma Baars of Keeline, Mrs. George Stepanich of Glenrock, Mrs. Everett Osborne of Casper, and Mrs. Joe Erschabek of Sunrise; three sisters, Mrs. Geo. Mills of Max, Neb., Mrs. Olin Bowser of Portland, Ore., and Mrs. Mose Cleveland of Albion, Neb., and 21 grandchildren.
