Amy Weaklen Dies In Casper, Mon.
Mrs. Amy Weaklen of Douglas died in a Casper hospital Monday morning, February 4, shortly after she had entered the hospital to have a fractured elbow set. Her death was attributed to a blood clot.
Born July 8, 1873, at Chicago, Ill., Amy Churchill was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Churchill. She came to Wyoming with her parents when she was 16 years old and located on Horseshoe Creek, near Glendo. A few years later the family moved to Orin.
November 5, 1902, she was married to John H. Weaklen at Orin. They were the parents of a daughter, Bea, and a son, John Everette. From Orin the family moved to Lusk, where Mr. Weaklen purchased a mercantile business which he and his wife conducted for a number of years. They sold their business to Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Mayes of Lusk and moved to Douglas, where the family has since resided.
Mr. Weaklen died October 18, 1913.
Survivors are her son and daughter, a step-daughter, Mrs. J. S. Mills, Los Angeles, Calif.; a brother, Harry Churchill of Douglas, and a step-sister, Mollie E. Pollock of Shawnee, Wyo.
Funeral services were at the Episcopal Church in Douglas on Wednesday, with Rev. Claude E. Caterbury officiating. Interment was made in the Douglas cemetery.
