Guy Brewer

Guy Brewer who came to the Lusk and Manville areas in 1921 died in the Torrington hospital Friday morning.

Guy Charles Brewer was born November 23, 1916, in Newport, Neb., the son of Frank C. and Nellie Johnson Brewer. He moved to this area with his parents and attended the Manville schools. September 14, 1939, he and Dorothy L. Packard were married in Lusk.

Mr. Brewer was employed as a truck driver by the Burlington Truck Lines, the Salt Creek Truck Lines and the R. B. Dick Wilson Lines. He was a veteran of the Army during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. He attended the Church of the Open Bible of Manville and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, the V.F.W., the American Legion and was Commander of the Amvets.

The Brewers have lived in Torrington for the past 17 years. Funeral service was conducted there at Sutley Funeral Chapel Tuesday morning with the Rev. William Schafer officiating.

Interment was in the Lusk Cemetery at 2:00 Tuesday afternoon with the Rev. Frank Bozart officiating.

Survivors include his wife Dorothy L. of Torrington; daughters, Wanda Schmidt of Amarillo, Tex., and Phyllis Carlson of Potter, Neb.; two granddaughters, two grandsons, and one great-grandchild.

Memorials may be directed to either the family or to the heart fund.
