Charlotte Groshans

Funeral services for Charlotte E. (Rizor) Groshans, 75, of Scottsbluff were held April 14 at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel. Neal Hermsmeyer and Kenneth Pinney officiated with burial following in the Harrison Cemetery.

Mrs. Groshans died Friday, Apr. 11. She was born March 23, 1911 in Spearfish, SD, the daughter of Mr. And Mrs. W.A. Rizor and moved with her family in 1912 to a homestead near Sioux County. In 1921, they moved to Harrison where she attended school prior to moving to Wyoming in 1925.

She lived in Douglas and Casper before moving to Lusk in 1933, later moving to Crawford in 1941 and to Scottsbluff in 1945. She married John Groshans, May 15, 1958 in Bridgeport and the couple lived in Gurley and Sidney before she returned to Scottsbluff in 1963.

Mrs. Groshans was an employee at West Nebraska General Hospital for 12 years and worked with Dr. Heinke for six years before retiring in 1976.

Survivors include her daughters, Mrs. Margie Felzien of Pueblo, CO, Mrs. Shirley Sunderman of Otis, CO, and Mrs. Bonnie Schuessler of Potter, NE; sisters, Freda Story of Fort Collins, CO. and Berniece Rizor of Whittier, CA; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, her parents, three sisters, two brothers, two half-brothers and two grandchildren. A memorial was established to the charity of the donor's choice.
