Leona P. Canada

Leona P. Canada, daughter of Bernice Pennington of Lusk, died November 15 in Kentucky.

She was born March 23, 1924, in Lusk, the daughter of Roy J. and Bernice Pennington and grew up in the Lusk area, graduating from Shawnee high school. Following her high school graduation, she attended nurses training in Denver before moving to Los Angeles, Calif. She worked for years at a drug store inventory and while in California married Claude Canada.

Funeral service was held November 18 at Milward Funeral Home in Lexington, Kentucky with the Rev. Wayne Smith officiating. Interment was in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens, Lexington. Memorials may be sent to the American Heart Fund.

Mrs. Canada was preceded in death by her husband and her father. Besides her mother, she is survived by her son Roy and daughter Diane Noe, two brothers Ted and Jim Pennington of Lusk, one sister Charlene Glandt and numerous nieces and nephews.
