Mrs. Earl Maxwell, Lance Creek, Dies

Mrs. Earl Maxwell, 46, of Lance Creek, died at the Memorial Hospital Saturday, Apr. 4, after being in poor health for many years.

Ogla (Olga) M. Nelson was born at Scribner, Nebr., July 22, 1906, the daughter of Andrew and Emma Nelson. She attended school in that community and came with her parents to Lance Creek in 1915 where she finished school, and spent the remainder of her life, except for a year and a half spent in Arizona.

On Nov. 22, 1925 she was married to Earl L. Maxwell. Two daughters were born to them, Shirley and Sheila, who both died in infancy. A son, Leroy, now resides in Fort Worth, Tex.

She was preceded in death by her father in 1947 and her mother in 1948.

Besides here husband and son, surviving are five brothers, Fred, Melvin, Elmer, Linden and Lester Nelson and four sisters, Mrs. Laurine Jess, Mrs. Betty Taylor, Mrs. Violet Kurtz and Miss Romona Nelson.

Funeral services were conducted from the Peet Chapel on Wednesday afternoon by the Rev. Leroy Train, pastor of the Lance Creek Community Church. The songs "In the Garden," "Ivory Palaces" and "Beautiful Isle" were sung by Mr. and Mrs. O. E. Snyder, Mrs. Anna Christensen, Mrs. Elizabeth Lee, Mrs. Henry Stiles and E. S. Copelind, accompanied by Mrs. J. P. Watson.

Neighbors who carried the body to its last resting place in the Lusk Cemetery were: Orville Hayes, Henry Amend, Emory Gaukel, Marvin Skillings, Leonard Ong and Arthur Joss.
