Earl Maxwell Funeral Service Held Saturday

Funeral service was held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the Peet Chapel for Earl Maxwell who died May 16 at Torrington.

The service was conducted by the Rev. Fred Bolinger with Mrs. Dave Leimser, organist. Soloist Mark Lohr sang "How Great Thou Art".

Casket bearers were Lee Moore, Royce Nelson, Laverne Jess, Elton Jess, Emery Gaukel and Fred Sheaman.

Honorary pallbearers were Fred Bertram, Rex Barclay, Victor Kamp, Bud Allen, Everett Miller and Sven Johnson. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

Earl Lincoln Maxwell, son of Wallace O. and Liza Clement Maxwell was born February 12, 1903, at Scotia, Neb. His father homesteaded in the Lance Creek area and he attended school at Lance Creek. He was employed with Argo and Marathon Oil Companies for about 45 years, retiring in 1959. In 1959 he moved to a ranch 2 1/2 miles north of Lusk. He moved to Torrington in 1967.

He was married to Olga Margaret Nelson on October 25, 1925, at Douglas and she died in 1953.

Survivors inlude Ruth, a son, LeRoy Earl Maxwell of Fort Worth, Texas; and a sister, Ethel Yax of Scotia, Neb.

His wife, parents, two daughters, Shirley Joyce and Shelia Gae; two brothers and one sister died previously.
