Pioneer of Sioux dies
Mrs. Della Elizabeth Carley, 93, daughter of Sioux County pioneers, died recently at a nursing home in Riverton, Wyo.
She was born May 16, 1883, at Manson, Iowa, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Lowery. Her first husband was Roy Wright, a former publisher of the Harrison Sun. She was married three times, and she and her second husband, Sam Fleming, operated a restaurant in Harrison for many years. She lived in Lander, Wyo., the past 20 years, residing elsewhere in Wyoming before that.
She was a member of the Methodist Church of Douglas, Wyo.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Neva Clark of Lander, Mrs. Ione Flake of California; nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral and burial were held at Lander.
