O. E. Chaffee of Jay Em Passes Away Tuesday; Funeral Here Today
Heart trouble took the life of Orrin Elias Chaffee, for more than twenty years a resident of the Jay Em community. Mr. Chaffee died at 1:15 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, December 12th, at the family home following a brief illness.
He was born in Indiana on July 29, 1855, and at the time of demise was 78 years, 4 months and 14 days of age. He was one of the leading residents of the Jay Em vicinity, and was hightly regarded by all who knew him.
Decedent is survived by his widow, Mrs. Catherine Chaffee; one daughter, Mrs. Dora Tatum and one son.
Funeral services were held from the Peet Funeral home this (Thursday) afternoon, at 1:15 o'clock, under the direction of George Earl Peet, mortician. Rev. B. F. Farrar, pastor of the First Baptist church, officiated. Interment was made in the Lusk cemetery.
