Laid to Rest

The following articles, published in the Lusk Herald, is courtesy of the Wyoming Newspaper Project.

James Evans, 48 years of age and a resident of Wyoming for the last 28 years, died at his father's home early Saturday morning and was buried Sunday in Lusk cemetery. The funeral service was held at the Congregational church, Rev. Isaac McRae conducting the exercises. A quartet sang the following hymns: "Rock of Ages," "My Faith Looks Up to Thee" and "I Need Thee Every Hour," and Miss Pearl Blevans sang "Nearer My God, to Thee." There was a large turnout of neighbors and friends to sympathize with the sorrowing relatives. The pallbearers were J. C. Sturman, Ed C. Daley, Frank Walters, J. D. Lorenzen, A. L. Miller and James Mashek.

Card of Thanks
For the many acts of kindness, for the sympathy and words of comfort from our neighbors and friends during the illness and death of our son and brother, we take this opportunity of returning thanks.

Jim Evans, son of Lafayette Evans and an ex-marshal of Gillette, lies very sick at his father's home and the chances for his recovery are anything but bright. Dr. Cantril of Douglas came down Monday to consult with Dr. Magaby on the case, the former confirming the latter's diagnosis of the disease as general paresis.
