Alice Nesthus dies Nov. 8

Alice Nesthus, Lusk, died Nov. 8 at the Niobrara County Memorial Hospital. A memorial srvice was held Saturday afternoon at Peet Mortuary Chapel with Mark Lohr officiating. Interment was in Worland.

Edna DeCastro, organist, accompanied Marily Cockreham who sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Blessed Quietness."

Alice Amanda Nesthus was born Nov. 19, 1899, at Lander, the daughter of William and Rose M. Ferrell. She attended school in Lander before moving to Coffeyville, Kan., where she graduated from high school and business college. She then moved to Casper where she met and married Louis O. Nesthus in 1929.

Mr. and Mrs. Nesthus managed various ranches where she did the cooking, at Nowood, Ten Sleep, and Manderson. They later moved to Worland where they lived until his death in 1944. She moved to Lusk where she made her home with the Lafe Culvers. For the past four years she had lived at the Turnbull apartments. While in Lusk, she worked as a cook at the grade school cafeteria. Mrs. Nesthus was a member of the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two sisters, Mildred and Cathryn; and two brothers, Mark and Evans.

She is survived by two sisters, Hester Hodges of Tyro, Kan. and Hilda Bryner of Tulsa, Okla.
