Lloyd Roy Dies, Service Monday
Funeral service was held Monday at the Peet Chapel at 2:00 p.m. for Lloyd Henry Roy, 80, who died at Hot Springs, S. D., July 4.
The Rev. Thomas Polk of St. George's Episcopal Church conducted the service with Mrs. Walt Fernau and Mrs. Samuel M. Thomas singing "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Abide With Me". Organist was Mrs. A. F. DeCastro.
Casket bearers were A. F. DeCastro, Henry Klemke, Menno Kaan, C E. Marvin, Leroy Redfield and Bill Magoon. Burial was at the Lusk Cemetery.
Lloyd Henry Roy, the son of John Henry and Julia M. Hubbard Roy, was born March 20, 1894, at Oakfield, Wisc.
He came to Lusk in 1905 and lived on a ranch north of town for five years. At the age of 21 he homesteaded at the JA6 ranch north of Lusk. He entered military service January 28, 1918, at Lusk and was discharged at Vancouver, Wash., in 1919.
He lived in California for many years returning to Lusk a few years ago.
His parents and two sisters, Olive Johnson and Lenora Giinther, died previously. He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
