Died, at Pleasant Ridge yesterday, Ephraim Shatto, at the ripe old age of 81 years. Deceased had been feeble for some time, and a few weeks ago was stricken with paralysis, and he was unable to survive the shock.

Grandpa Shatto died last Wednesday, after an illness of seven weeks, and was buried on Friday.

Note: The Pleasant Ridge Cemetery records include (GAR) after his name. The Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) was a fraternal organization composed of veterans of the Union Army who had served in the American Civil War.
